sheets sold and counting
As seen in
Four points in a night that repeats itself most weeks. None of it is invented. It came out of reviews, written by people who were not asked about temperature.
You went to bed at a sensible hour for once, and for about forty minutes this is the best decision you have made all week.
Not a decision. A reflex, and one you have been making so long you stopped noticing it. The duvet gets folded back to a triangle. You turn the pillow over for the first time.
Damp across the back and the back of the neck. You kick everything off, lie there in the dark, and do the arithmetic on how many hours are left. Your partner, under the same duvet, is fine.
Then you blame the room. The AC. The season. The mattress. Your age. Your hormones. The fan for being too loud, and then for not being loud enough.
You have been awake since five and asleep since who knows. You strip the bed on Saturday and put the same sheets back on Sunday, and next week goes exactly the same way.
So before anything else, go and look at the tag sewn into the side seam of your fitted sheet.
The label decoder
Bedding is one of the last categories where the label is written to be misread. Tell us what yours says and we will tell you what is actually against your skin.
Start here
Nobody reads the tag.
It is sewn into the side seam of the fitted sheet, about a third of the way down the long edge. Two minutes to find, and it explains more about your sleep than most of what you have already tried.
One of these six matches what yours says. Pick it and we will tell you what that fiber actually does in a warm bed. If it turns out you already own the right one, we will say so.
What that means
Bamboo is on the label. Polyester is in the bed.
A "bamboo blend" is usually a minority of viscose carrying a majority of polyester. The bamboo is there because it sells the sheet. The polyester is there because it costs almost nothing.
You get the word on the packaging and the damp of a synthetic. Look for the composition line rather than the product name, and if the percentages are not printed anywhere, that is itself the answer.
What that means
Microfiber is polyester, woven very fine.
Polyester filaments spun thin enough to feel soft in the hand. The fiber does not absorb, which means it has no mechanism for moving moisture off your skin. It sits between you and the air rather than letting anything through.
That is a real difference in a warm bed, and it is why a lot of people who describe themselves as hot sleepers are sleeping on microfiber without having connected the two. It is a perfectly good fabric for a guest room or a kid's bed. It is the wrong fabric for the problem that brought you here.
What that means
That is the same fiber we use.
Viscose and rayon are two legal names for one material, so "rayon from bamboo" and "viscose from bamboo" are the same thing. If yours says 100%, you already own the right fiber and you should keep it.
What is worth checking is the rest of the label. A resin or silicone softening finish sits on top of good fabric and washes out of it, taking the hand you paid for with it. And check the pocket depth if your fitted sheet keeps letting go at the corner.
What that means
Above about 600, the number is being counted twice.
High thread counts are usually reached by twisting several thin plies into one yarn and counting each ply. A 1000-count sheet is often a 250-count sheet doing arithmetic.
Even where the count is honest, denser is warmer. You are buying a tighter weave with less air moving through it, which is the opposite of what a hot sleeper needs. Cotton is a good fiber. It is just being sold to you with a bad number.
What that means
That is a coating, not a fiber.
Cold-to-the-touch is a treatment applied to the surface of a fabric after it is woven. Some are mineral, some are phase-change, all of them are on top of the cloth rather than in it. You feel it strongly for the first minute you get in, less by the third week, and not at all somewhere around wash ten.
The claim also tells you nothing about what the sheet is made of, which is the part that determines how the rest of the night goes. Find the composition line. It is legally required and it is usually printed much smaller than the words on the front.
What that means
Nobody has. That is the whole problem.
It is sewn into the side seam of the fitted sheet, roughly a third of the way down the long edge. Two minutes, and it explains more about your sleep than most things you have tried.
Then come back and pick the line that matches. If it turns out you are already on 100% viscose from bamboo, we will tell you to keep what you have.
How it actually works
A sheet cannot refrigerate you. What a sheet can do is move moisture off your skin and let heat leave. That is the entire mechanism, and it is the only one that matters.
Everything else sold as cooling is either a coating that washes out or a claim with nothing behind it.
100% viscose from bamboo
Moisture moves
It travels off your skin instead of pooling against it. No blend, no filler, no polyester hiding in the weave.
BreezeWeave construction
Heat leaves
Air keeps moving through the fabric rather than forming the warm damp layer that wakes you up at three.
300 thread count, no resin finish
It stays that way
Nothing is sealing the fabric shut. It gets softer with every wash instead of stiffer, which is the opposite of coated easy-care bedding.
17-inch pockets, double stitched
It stays on the bed
The corner that pops off at 2 AM is its own kind of temperature problem. Fits thick mattresses, memory foam and pillow tops.
These stop you waking up damp. They are not air conditioning. One of our own reviewers said exactly that this summer, we left the review up, and you can read it further down this page.
Every row here is a property of the fibre, not a marketing position.
The wash test
The softness you feel through the packaging is often a finish, applied to the fabric at the end of the line. It survives about six washes. What you are left with is whatever the fabric always was underneath, which is usually the reason it was cheap.
Ours has nothing on top of it to lose. The hand you feel in week one is the fiber itself, which is why our reviewers keep describing sheets that got better rather than worse.

What buyers say
As a hot sleeper these sheets are the ones to keep you cool no doubt. I live in FL so imagine.
Lola G. / verified buyer
More than one in four of our reviewers bring up temperature without being asked to. Not one of them was prompted with the word cooling.
These are the softest sheets I’ve ever slept on. I can never sleep on anything else to the point I take decolure sheets with me when I travel.

Been sleeping on my sheets for 2 weeks. My sleep numbers have improved. I am not as hot and the sheets are truly soft.

I'm getting some of the BEST sleep ever. These sheets are so luxurious they literally make you feel RICH.

We would rather lose the order than take it from someone these were never going to work for.
01
If the room sits in the 80s overnight, fix the room. Fabric changes how you sleep at the margin. It does not change the air.
02
That sensation comes from a coating or a
phase-change treatment, and it fades within the hour and then within the month.
Buy a cooling pad instead. Different product, different job.
03
These wrinkle less than cotton but they are not press-free, whatever our own spec sheet says. If a crease bothers you, this
will bother you.
04
High heat is hard on any fine fiber. Low heat,
out slightly damp, straight onto the bed. If that is more attention than you want to give a sheet, buy something you can punish.
Most bedding brands want you deciding in a shop, under fluorescent light, with your hand on a folded corner. That tells you nothing about 3 AM in August.
So take them home instead. Put them through your actual summer, your actual thermostat argument, your actual laundry cycle. If they do not change your nights, email us any time inside 100 nights. We send a prepaid label. You get the full amount back. Nobody makes you argue for it.

The fitted sheet has a 17-inch pocket, which covers thick mattresses, memory foam and most pillow tops. Measure from the top seam to the bottom seam before you order. Under 17 inches and you are fine.
Cool, not cold. Anything that feels icy in the packet is usually a coating, and coatings wash out. What these do is stop trapping your body heat and moisture, which is the thing that actually wakes you up.
Less than cotton, but they are not press-free and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Take them out of the dryer while they are still slightly damp and put them straight on the bed. They settle within an hour.
Yes. Viscose and rayon are two names for the same fibre and both are legal on a US label, so "rayon from bamboo" is the same material we use. What differs between brands is whether it is 100% of the fabric or a small percentage propping up a polyester blend.
Because thread count stopped being a useful number somewhere around 600. Above that, most brands are counting multi-ply yarns twice, and a denser weave traps more heat regardless. For a cooling sheet, 300 in a single-ply bamboo viscose does more for you than 1000 of anything.
Every Decolure bed sheet is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, meaning every component, fabric and thread and dye, has been tested against a list of substances known to be harmful to human health. The fabric is naturally resistant to dust mites and allergens, with no chemical softening finish.
Screens vary and ours is no exception. If the colour is not what you pictured, that is exactly what the 100 nights is for. Send them back, no cost, no argument.
Three, four or six pieces depending on what you choose. Every set includes a deep-pocket fitted sheet, a flat sheet and pillowcases. The piece count is the number of pillowcases. Six-piece sets are the ones people buy when they are tired of laundry day.
